I love that they are quite different and complementary, and I really appreciate the way you connect Darrah's story to your own--proof that it will land well with lots of TILT's reading audience.
Your personal story hits home for me as I had a similar note-passing incident in 8th grade that made me totally question who I was. I appreciate how this story leads to a wonderful review of Tilt. Finding that spot of pain as a tween is difficult to capture. Jone has a deep empathy for kids at that age and it shows up in the work she does.
Such a powerful story from your childhood to lead into your review! My heart breaks that you never got to apologize, but I appreciate that you now use that experience to inform your life (and writing) moving forward.
